NEW DELHI: The ‘Superman’ of Chennai Super Kings, Dwayne Bravo stunned the cricket fans on Sunday night by taking a superb one-handed catch that will be watched again and again in the times to come. Bravo with his perfect timing removed shocked Shane Watson that helped MS Dhoni’s brigade to defeat the Rajasthan Royals by 12 runs.
In the ongoing cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL), the fielder of Chennai Super Kings in its match against Rajasthan Royals plucked the ball out of thin air in an outstanding show of athleticism.
Considered to be a great fielder, Bravo turned the match on its head after he jumped to catch the ball in the tenth over.
It certainly acquired a laudable effort to eliminate the veteran Aussie, 28-year-old Shane Watson who had been leading the Rajasthan’s chase against Chennai’s 157-5 and Bravo left no stone unturned to do so.
After Watson smashed Jadeja down the ground, the ball seemed to glide well beyond the boundary. But unfortunately for the star Aussie player, 5 feet and 9 inch Bravo who leapt up used his tactics to stretch his right hand, caught the ball and was yet able to balance his landing to conclude an amazing effort.
After the match, humble Bravo speaking about his ‘catch of the season’, said, “It was a fluke.” “I stuck my hand out and the ball got stuck there,” he added.
Shane Watson who had to leave the pitch after the terrific catch by Bravo was visibly taken aback by the ‘quality’ and the Chepauk fans were audibly delighted.
Apart from this, 31-year-old Bravo also took two wickets in the match that helped him win the purple cap for the highest wicket-taker in IPL 8 so far.
