Playboy to feature Muslim woman in Hijab

New Delhi: The Playboy magazine which once ruled the world with its cute bunnies and soft porn, is yet again in the headlines for a spread which is drawing both praises and criticism all round.
The Playboy magazine, for the first time in its history, will feature a Muslim woman wearing a hijab as their cover photo for the October edition.
American journalist Noor Tagouri will appear in the magazine's October "Renegades" edition, a series that basically focuses on the men and the women "who risked all in order to accomplish what they love".
The 22-year-old journalist who works as a reporter for Newsy is featured wearing a black leather jacket, jeans, sneakers and a hijab, in the publication that describes the journalist as "a badass activist".
Noor Tagouri of Libyan descent has a goal to become the first "hijabi" anchor on commercial television. Noor further states that her struggles as a Muslim woman growing up in the United States has helped her to kept moving forward in her career.
Commenting on being the cover of the famous magazine which did away with nudity earlier this year in order to cater the wider section masses, Noor  said, "I know what it's like to have the narrative of our community be skewed and exploited in the media. I was like, 'Hey, I know what it's like to be misrepresented in the media. I won't do that to you. I want to tell your story because it's important and deserves justice'," she further added.
Noor's appearance in the revamped Playboy is being hailed by many as a breakthrough, but others have hit out at the young woman for her bold move.
