New Delhi: Jaipur Literature Festival founder Sanjoy K Roy talks to NewsX’s Sahar Zaman about the upcoming theme of ‘Freedom To Dream’ in the 2017 edition which marks the 10th anniversary of the event.
In the past decade, it has established itself as one of the most visited international literature festivals in the world, with a unique distinction of being free to visitors. Festival Director William Dalrymple is determined to carry forward this unique USP of the event in the coming decade as well, where award winning authors can be heard by a large crowd with zero ticket payment.
Co-director Namita Gokhale emphasise on the need to continue showcasing literature from India’s interiors with our rich lingual history.
The JLF has successfully launched in other international destinations such as the Southbank, London and the Boulder, Colorado as well. In Feb 2017, the festival will make its debut in Melbourne as well.
