A day after NewsX exposed the injustice being visited upon the legacy of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, the Centre or the State machinery is yet to react.
Our reporters on the ground have observed that a token attempt is being made to clean-up the memorial grounds more for the benefit of the cameras than any attempt to dignify one of India's greatest icons. The dogs, cattle and trespassing tourists are still trampling on his Dargah.
The irony is that the State's Chief Minister today presided over a glittering ceremony to pay tribute to the AIADMK's great leader MGR but hasn't even spared a word to lament the desecration of Dr Kalam's legacy. Would this have been the case had Dr Kalam been the leader of a major political party?
