Nation at 9: Biggest move since 1947

A silent move is being made in the valley to sever the state of Jammu & Kashmir from India. Several political parties are going to rely on a high court order reported by NewsX yesterday to push a bill through the state assembly that could very well lead to a massive dilution of the Centre's constitutional authority over Jammu & Kashmir.

Highly placed sources have told NewsX that the bill will pave the wave for the installation of a president and a prime minister in the State. In other words, India will now have two presidents, two prime ministers and two flags.

This move is nothing but the clearest attempt since 1947 to cut Kashmir's apron strings from the mainland of India and push it towards eventual secession. The bill is expected to be pushed into the Jammu and Kashmir assembly as early as the middle of next month.
