President's rule has been imposed in the state of Arunachal Pradesh. While the BJP has maintained that the state is in a vacuum position, Arunachal Pradesh CM Nabam Tukki has come out and said that he will take the battle to Supreme Court.
The Congress Party has hit out at the Narendra Modi government for steering constitutional leverage to their advantage against the opposition party. Terming it a step towards “murder of democracy”, the Congress Party spokesperson issued a statement exclaiming that it was an effort by the government to nail federalism.
Earlier, President Pranab Mukherjee had questioned this imposition of central rule over the state of Arunachal Pradesh.
