The debate over reservation in private sector has been reignited with the National Commission for Backward Classes proposing a 27% quota for OBCs in private companies. The commission has sent across this proposal to the social justice ministry and it will be the NDA govt that will take a final call on this.
As per the sources, the proposal has been backed by political leaders across the nation. Ram Vilas Paswan of LJP and other cabinet ministers have said that they are ready to bring the proposal to table in the upcoming parliament session.
Government’s stand on proposal is expected to have a huge impact on NDA’s performance in the upcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar where caste card is often a decisive factor.
