The UPA insider and former home secretary GK Pillai has dropped a bombshell going against the UPA line on Ishrat Jahan encounter killing.
Pillai has claimed that Ishrat was part of the group that planned to attack top leaders in Gujarat after David Headley.
The former UPA top babu is the second person to confirm Ishrat's terror link. He said that it was not done at his level but at a political level.
Pillai also said that the matter was politicised and a CBI inquiry was not required.
Ishrat was shot dead along with three men in Gujarat in 2004 by police officers, who claimed that they were terrorists involved in a plot to kill Narendra Modi, then the chief minister.
