Nation At 9: Day after 'amry rapes' jibe Kanhaiya's 'misogyny' exposed

Kanhaiya Kumar has been hailed as a revolutionary; an articulate voice of conscience. A few days ago on Woman's day he even held forth on the Indian army and its record of rapes in the Kashmir valley. Understandably the military establishment recoiled and human rights bodies hailed his bravery. What they missed was the hypocrisy.
It took a former JNU student to expose the hollowness of Kanhaiya's protestations. She told NewsX today how Kanhaiya has actually been found guilty of abusing, intimidating and threatening her after she asked him to zip himself up and stop exposing his genitals in public while urinating on the campus. The JNU's proctor office has confirmed that Kanhaiya was indeed fined Rs 3,000 for this misdemeanour.
Ironically, those who have backed Kanhaiya Kumar and hailed his sensitive nature have not spoken up in support of the woman. After this can they or even Kanhaiya Kumar still retain the right to stand in moral judgement of others most importantly the Indian army?
