Nation at 9: AMU row — 'Secularism' pitch reversed?
It seems the Aligarh Muslim University is set to lose its status as a minority university.
Attorney General Mukul Rohtagi told the Supreme Court today that the Centre is withdrawing its appeal against the Allahabad HC judgement in AMU minority status case. 
The previous UPA government, along with AMU, had filed a special leave petition in the top court challenging the Allahabad High Court verdict, holding that the university cannot have minority status.
