The prime minister declared in his Saharanpur rally that his government has been blemish free for the past 2 years. On the day when the Modi government completes two years in power, it is extremely significant that the defence minister Manohar Parrikar in an exclusive interview to NewsX has made big revelations in the Agusta Westland case.
Now Parrikar's 'Birbal ka bamboo' speech in parliament was much talked about and written about. He goes a step further in the NewsX interview. Manohar Parrikar today in a no holds barred interview with Rahul Shivshankar told Newsx that he has prosecutable evidence against those who benefited directly from kickbacks. Now that's a big statement for the defence minister of the country to make.
Thats not all. Parrikar goes on to say that an invisible hand was controlling the then defence minister AK Antony through remote control. And when pressed on who the invisible hand was, Parrikar dropped a big hint.
Tantalising, but just short of actually naming the person, he said that theinvisible hand was in top position in the Congress.
The question now is, if the Raksha Mantri is saying he has prosecutable evidence against the bribe takers, will the government prosecute just the middlemen and small fish? Or will the probe and eventual justice cover big name politicians as well?
