A separatist who scoffs at the Indian Constitution and a glag bearer for Pakistan Syed Ali Shah Geelani has sought an Indian passport. But, in its toughest stand against separatists till date the BJP has asked Geelni to acknowledge that he is an Indian and beleives in the Indian constitution if he wants a passport. Geelani who has distinguished himself in Pakistan by flying its flag on Indian soil is seeking an Indian passport to visit his ailing daughter who is in Saudi Arabia. Several political parties especially the Congress and National Conference have in the past granted Geelani a passport no questions asked on several grounds much to the disappointment of nationalists who believe that the Pro-Pak leader must be jailed for his sedition rather than molly coddled by the state.
