India wants action against Pakistan to avenge the death of our braves in Uri. The government has so far resisted the temptation of playing to the galleries and taking steps to punish Pakistan. In fact it has demonstrated what some call strategic restraint. But that hasn't stopped some political parties from offering suggestions on how the government can respond.
On a day when the BCCI ruled out bilateral cricket series with Pakistan the MNS led by Raj Thackeray called upon Pakistani artistes to leave India in 48 hours or stay at their own risk. While the threat to violence is not acceptable, the underlying sentiment is agreeable.
Why after all when Pakistan exports terror should India import Pakistani stars and line their pockets? Will Pakistan's votaries in this country back Thackeray's call and boycott all things Pakistan from goods, to stars to music and art? And if they don't agree can they justify by explaining how people-to-people contacts with Pakistan have helped in curbing the flow of terror from across the border?
