The politics over the September 28th surgical strike is showing no signs of abating. As if questioning the strike wasn't bad enough, now politicians are tripping over themselves to virtually trivialise the strike to avenge the Uri attack. After all why else would they take turns in trumping up the efficacy and scale of alleged surgical strikes conducted when they were in government?
The Congress has already listed at least 3 instances when they also supposedly carried out surgical strikes. Now, in the latest, the NCP chief Sharad Pawar has also boasted about surgical strikes that were conducted way back in the early 90s when he was defence minister in the Narasimha Rao government. This new race to prove muscle power comes within days of the opposition calling upon the govt to table proof of the strikes which many experts feel is nonsensical.
