In the backdrop over the war of words over the surgical strike against Pakistan Prime Minister Modi credited the humble jatayu for relentlessly fighting against terror. The PM'S analogy on Dussehra day was not lost on anyone.
Jatayu was just a metaphor for the ordinary Indian. Today however the Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar credited the prime minister for demonstrating the will for planning the surgical strike. For good measure Parrikar also complimented the army for executing the brief perfectly. Together the Defence Minister said the PM and army should be jointly commended.
But the Opposition has chosen to slam Parrikar. The Congress, SP, BSP, AAP and others have accused the Defence Minister and the BJP of stealing credit from the army. The war unfortunately has been re-ignited and has crystallised into a contest between sharing credit and stealing credit.
