NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday reacted on Mother Teresa conversion row and objected over controversial remarks of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagat on Teresa.

Earlier on Monday, RSS Chief had sparked a controversy by saying that Mother Teresa's agenda was to convert the poor and questioned Teresa's service to the poor.

Arvind Kejriwal who worked with Mother Teresa for few months appealed on Twitter, saying ‘Please spare Mother Teresa.’ “I worked with Mother Teresa for a few months at Nirmal Hriday Ashram in Kolkata. She was a noble soul,” he added.

RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat made his statement at a function organised by NGO Apna Ghar in Rajasthan. While speaking at the function, Bhagwat said, “Converting people to Christianity was the main objective behind Mother Teresa's service to the poor.”

Bhagwat's comments have sparked a row with political leaders from opposition parties and they have sharply reacted to Bhagwat’s uncharitable remarks.

On the other hand, BJP MP Yogi Adityanath defended RSS Chief Bhagwat and whle speaking to NewsX, he said, “Nothing wrong with Bhagwat’s comment. Comment is based on the facts. We will answer this at an appropriate time in the Parliament.”
