WB Govt to declassify 1943-47 Cabinet Files

West Bengal: After the declassification of Netaji files, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has informed that the Bengal government would make public, the files of the cabinet meetings that were held during 1943-47, which was the crucial pre-independence era.

Regretting the fact that Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s contribution had not been assessed properly, Mamata Banerjee advised that taking the example of the state government, the centre government should also declassify the files it has on Netaji.

The Chief Minister said, “We have declassified 64 Netaji files. The immense contribution of Netaji has not been evaluated properly. We feel that the Centre should follow us and declassify the files.”

The Chief Minister tweeted about the same:

Such a transparency in governance will definitely be of great help to historians, researchers and the general public.
