Lal Bahadur Shastri’s family has demanded all the documents related to his death to be declassified. As it is rightly said, there is something little more of everything, the family of Shastri believes that he did not die of heart attack, but was murdered.
Sunil Shastri, Bharatiya Janata Party leader and son of Lal Bahadur told that he had requested several former PMs for declassifying the files including, Manmohan Singh, IK Gujral and Chandra Shekhar but, he did not get any reply for the same.
Sidharth Nath Singh, Lal Bahadur Shastri’s grandson is hopeful that Modi will act on the request of his family.
Shastri’s another son, Anil Shastri, also a Congress leader, informed that white spots and blue marks were found on Shastri’s body which indicate that there was some sort of villainy behind his death.
Recalling the past, Anil Shastri said, “very shocking that both his personal physician RN Chugh and personal assistant met with accidents. Both had to depose before inquiry commissions. Coincidence twice is a little improbable.”
He also added that his personal diary, in which he used to jot down notes daily and thermos flask which was kept next to him, were never recovered. He said, “His death could have been from something in the thermos flask."
The push in this issue has come soon after the West Bengal government declassified 64 files related to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. (Also Read: Mamata Banerjee keeps her promise, declassifies 64 #NetajiFiles)
The West Bengal government, after declassifying his files is now pressurising the Central government to declassify the files it has in its records, related to Netaji. (Also Read: Files reveal Netaji was alive after 1945, family spied upon: Mamata)
