After NewsX reported the plight of Para-athletes being left on streets to sleep for the past five days, waiting to be a given a visa, for a championship being held at Taiwan, the impact has been positive.

The Para-athletes were participating in the Asia Pacific Deaf Fames in Taiwan. The Sports Ministry has finally stepped in to the rescue of these physically challenged athletes. (Also See: Sports Babus shame India)

Visas have now been issued to these athletes, who had been waiting for the same to happen past five days.

Sarbananda Sonowal, Sports Minister said, “This is a very sorry state of affairs. I feel very sad after learning the whole story. But, I have directed the Sports Secretary to investigate in to the matter and get back to me with reports.”

The condition will still not be considered better as the Visas have been given just a day before the tournament begins.

Also, no arrangement of tickets, have been made so far for the participants.

The athletes are questioning the authorities that, what is the use of Visas, when the air tickets have not been booked yet?
