There are lot of corruption charges against BCCI. Now, Manohar is been seen as the saviour of the BCCI in their fight against corruption.

Shashank Manohar got support from all the sides including, Sharad Pawar, Anurag Thakur, Jaitley and, even Sourav Ganguly came forward in his support. (Also Read: Shashank Manohar likely to be the new President of BCCI)

It is reported that, Shashank Manohar wants changes in the BCCI administration before the end of the year.

Shashank Manohar, while addressing a Press Conference at BCCI Headquarters in Mumbai, made a few points. Some of the highlights from his Speech are:

It is now the responsibility of the Board to bring back the image and reputation of the Board.

In the present scenario, I have to continue the good work which was done by Mr. Jagmohan Dalmiya.

I propose to take things forward with the help of the member of the board. Those things would be:

-We would frame Regulations with regard to conflict of interest of administrators, players and staff.

-Board would also appoint an Ethics Officer, who would look into complains in regard to the conflicts of interest.

-The board would lay down the norms and would take forward the measures to prevent corruption in this game. There would be programmes for educating players.

-We would like to meet government officials and work out if we can get certain investigating agency      because the board members do not have any investigative powers

-We would build a system by which the accounts of the affiliated units will be audited by an independent Auditor appointed by the Board.

-The board would also be empowered to take any other action in case the board finds that the money which has been given to the State Association is not properly utilised.

-There are charges that the Board is not transparent. I feel that this problem can be sorted out by putting on the site of the Board, the constitution and rules of the Board.

-at the end of the year, we can put the Balance Sheet of the Board on the website. By implementing this, transparency will be ensured.

-The board will also look into starting of the NCA again, so that cricketing talent is developed in the country.

-The Board would also like to develop Women’s cricket.

-All the record will be made available at the Board Headquarter, so that any association can inspect their records at any time.

-There is a World Cup event coming up in March-April 2016 and our priority would be to conduct that event in the best possible manner.
