PM Narendra Modi pitches for 'Make in India' at meeting with Chancellor Angela Merkel

BENGALURU: After a fruitful meeting on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and German Chancellor Angela Merkel held the Indo-German Summit in the IT City today. The meeting discussed role of technology and innovation in manufacturing and IT services for the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Digital India’ initiatives for the government.
 
Here are the highlights of PM Modi’s speech:
 
•We are on our way of making India a global manufacturing hub.
•There is massive potential in Indo-German relationship.
•We are working hard to create conducive conditions for business
•We need to provide a big push to manufacturing, which is why we launched ‘Make In India’.
•We have worked really hard in the past 15 months to make India a favorable country to set up business.
•No place on earth can offer potential of such consumption. Want to make sure our tax system is transparent
•Our biggest challenge is employment
•India a bright spot even during global slowdown
•We have taken big steps to remove a large number of long pending concerns of the investors.
•We have introduced the GST Bill in the Parliament and are hopeful to rill it our next year. 
•We are committed to protect the Intellectual Property Rights of all innovators and entrepreneurs.
