Delhi: The Cabinet has cleared the War Memorial proposal and Rs 500 crore have been sanctioned for it already.
An official statement issued, after a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said that the project at Princess Park near India Gate will be completed in five years.
India Gate is also a war memorial, but it is dedicated to those soldiers who fought in previous wars before the Independence, that is World War I and World War II.
The proposed War Memorial is going to be independent India’s first War memorial dedicated to 22,500 soldiers who died post-Independence.
