Kulkarni hits out at Sena

MUMBAI: After rejecting the demand of Shiv Sena to cancel the book launch of former Pakistan Foreign Minister, Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri, Sudheendhra Kulkarni was there at the book launch venue, hitting at Sena and emphasising on peace talks between India and Pakistan. Thrilled by the gathering and the courage people had shown by making it to the event, showing their support in favour of the book launch, he said, “The kind of partition that happened was not the kind that our people had dreamt of. We shall defend and safeguard the values that Mumbai has stood for. The gathering here proves that Mumbai stands for India-Pakistan dialogue for peace.”
 
Thanking the Maharashtra CM and Mumbai Police for providing security, he said, “I also thank Maharashtra CM, Devendra Fadnavis and Mumbai Police.” (Also Read: Advani echoes Pranab’s message)
 
Expressing his gratitude to the CEO of Nehru Centre, Mumbai, Kulkarni said, “I must thank and appreciate the courage shown by the CEO, Shri Satish Sahni, at critical moments in preparing for this function.”
 
Recalling his meet with Uddhav Thackeray and justifying the reason behind meeting him a day before the book launch, he said, “Sahni ji and I went to meet Shri Uddhav Thackeray yesterday because we wanted to make him understand why we are organising this function and to understand his point of view.”
 
Emphasising on the importance and the reason behind the event, he said, “If we cancel, we will be insulting Nehru ji.” 
 
After the ink incident, Kulkarni, opting for a non-violent way, responded by tweeting on a social media site, “Na dhamki se, na bomb-bandook se, na goli se, baat banegi boli se.”
