About 70 Shiv Sena activists lodged a protest at the BCCI’s headquarters at Wankhede stadium in Mumbai, today morning. They were protesting against the meeting between Pakistan Cricket Board chief Shahryar Khan and BCCI president Shashank Manohar.
The activists gathered around the BCCI president Shashank Manohar’s office carrying black flags and shouted slogans of “Pakistan hai hai” and “Shashank Manohar murdabad”.
Shahryar Khan and the PCB’s head of executive committee arrived in India this Sunday to discuss with BCCI the India-Pakistan cricket series which are planned to be held in December.
“The trip is being made on the invitation of Shashank Manohar,” a PCB official said.
CP & DCP, Mumbai Police reached BCCI HQ and nearly 20 activists have been detained. Taking this incident into consideration, security has been increased at the BCCI headquarters.
A protester said the Shiv Sena would not permit any cricket relations between the two countries until Pakistan stopped the killing of Indian soldiers and civilians on the border.
