New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to attend BJP’s parliamentary board meeting on Monday including top-decision making leaders to discuss its Bihar debacle.
The Bihar verdict has been a blow to the BJP as the party could only grab 58 seats while the Mahagathbandhan secured 178 seats in the 243-member house securing two-thirds majority.
Though the BJP seemed quite confident of winning the Bihar elections, but after their defeat, it would difficult for PM Modi to push various economic reforms like GST, Land bill and others, as the government is in a minority in Rajya Sabha which is selected by State assemblies.
Earlier today, BJP President Amit Shah also met RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat and discussed the Bihar results and the party’s future strategy and later expressed that BJP did not lose elections because of Bhagwat’s quota remark.
PM Modi had personally led BJP’s Bihar campaign and went aggressive to dethrone Nitish Kumar but failed to replicate the results which everybody in the party were expecting.
