A big development in the Sheena Bora murder case occurred today when the central forensic team confirmed that the remains found at the site of murder at Raigad, a place near Mumbai, belonged to Sheena. Three rounds of tests have confirmed that the samples actually belong to Sheena. She was allegedly murdered by her mother Indrani Mukherjea and two others.
It is expected that within two to three days, a chargesheet will be filed by the CBI. Forensic test results will play a crucial role to prove the charges against the main accused, Indrani.
Sources have said that the driver Shyamvar Rai's confession was heard by the Metropolitan Magistrate court two days ago, who spilled the beans in court. The confession went on for 4 hours from 6pm to 10pm. Rai had written to the court seeking permission to confess to the facts of the case.
Reacting over the new development, Abha Singh, activist said, "This is going to be a great help to the police and court at the time of the trial because one very possible thing which the defence would have said that the body did not belong to Sheena Bora because Indrani and her lawyer have been saying that Sheena went to the US for study, which could have been used by them in the court. But after the forensic results, it has been proved that Sheena Bora was killed.”
"This will be the lead evidence because it closes the matter. It says that Sheena was murdered," Abha added.
