New Delhi: Former AAP party leader Prashant Bhushan today fervently condemned the party’s Lokpal bill claiming that the Delhi govt’s new bill did not stand against what they had long protested for.
Prashant lashed at Arvind Kejriwal today by stating that he could not fool them or Anna Hazare anymore.
Bhushan claimed that appointments in AAP’s Lokpal were not autonomous. He raised objection regarding the fact that the govt was carrying out the appointment.
“The selection is not independent of government. AAP is blatantly lying to the people. Delhi govt wants to control Lokpal,” said the former AAP party leader.
Bhushan also made the claim that the basic premise of the bill had been compromised by the Aam Aadmi Party.
"No independence of Lokpal in the drafted bill; Lokpal bill copy has also not been made public," he added.
Lokpal's jurisdiction extends to graft in Delhi and the Centre, therefore the fear is that the Centre may not approve it and the bill may not be passed. Also, penalty for filing false complaints will de-motivate people.
