Navy’s Dornier surveillance aircraft crashes in Goa; 2 officers missing

PANAJI: An Indian Navy’s Dornier surveillance aircraft with three officers on-board crashed into the sea off Goa on Tuesday night. 

One officer has been rescued but two officers including a pilot and observer are still missing. 

The rescued officer has been admitted to hospital and a full rescue operation has been launched to locate two missing officers.

According to the reports, the last contact with the aircraft was at 10:08 pm and the known position was 25 nautical miles South-West of Goa. 

The Navy’s Dornier surveillance aircraft was on a routine night training sortie.
