Left parties stage protest over intolerance issue

New Delhi: Amidst the ongoing debate over the intolerance issue in Parliament’s winter session, the Left parties today staged a protest outside the parliament  near the Gandhi Statue to further put pressure on the ruling government.

Slogans like “Down down communalism” and "Rising intolerance in the country” were also raised by the Left parliamentarians during their protest.

The protest was led by CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury and senior CPI leader D. Raja with their other party members.

So far the winter session of parliament has seen several adjournments due to the intolerance issue.

One such incident happened yesterday, when the Lower House of the parliament was adjourned following CPI(M) leader Mohd Salim’s remark on Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
