DELHI: The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) Chief Swati Maliwal said that they hope for a favourable judgement by the Supreme Court today. “The appeal made by us is not only for one but for all the ‘Nirbhayas’ of the country waiting for Justice to prevail,” the DCW chief said.
It was reported that DCW had filed a special petition in the SC late night on December 19, 2015. The petition was heard and the SC agreed to hear the matter on Monday, which is today.
Swati Maliwal told yesterday that the matter has been listed in Supreme Court for the hearing on Monday as item no. 3. She also told that the SC understood the seriousness of the case and so allotted the case to the vacation bench for the hearing.
Today’s hearing is considered to be significant as the fate of the juvenile will finally be decided by the Sc today. Although, the juvenile was released yesterday but he is still under some protection and the final decision will be out once the SC hearing takes place.
Also, it is reported the JJ bill will be discussed in the Rajya Sabha.
