Ahead of the Congress party’s 131st foundation day celebrations today, the top brass of the Congress party was left red-faced. The Congress’ Mumbai wing shocked party loyalists with a write-up in its December issue of Congress Darshan. The article blamed the party icon and India’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru for the state of affairs in Kashmir, China and Tibet.
The historic tussle between Nehru and Patel was brought to the fore in this particular issue in a tribute to mark Sardar Patel’s death anniversary on December 15. There is no word on exactly who wrote the article.
What is definitely embarrassing is the fact that the party’s own members have lashed out Pt. Nehru and Sonia Gandhi, both of whom can be considered as the foundation blocks of Indian history.
So far no action has been taken by the Congress. Sanjay Nirupam was quoted as saying, “I agree and accept there are certain words which are objectionable in it, we are going to take action against those who are responsible.”
