PM Modi salutes indomitable valour of forces on Army Day

New Delhi: On the occasion of Army Day today Prime Minister Narendra Modi appreciated the Army's services to the nation. The Indian Army day is celebrated every year on January 15. It was India's 68th Army Day that was celebrated at India Gate in New Delhi, today.
Paying tributes to the brave soldiers, the PM tweeted:

On the occasion, Army Chief General Dalbir Singh paid homage to the martyrs by laying wreaths at the Amar Jawan Jyoti and said that the Indian Army was ready to face challenges and capable of overcoming them. Our response to natural disasters has been efficient, the world also praised our efforts during the Nepal quake. Good coordination between all three services (Army, Navy, Air Force) is the most crucial aspect.
Our biggest strength are our soldiers; we are counted among the most professional forces in the world. We will soon establish a veteran wing at Base Hospital, where veterans will be exclusively treated. Also modernisation of our weapons is very important, the Army chief added.
Congress President Sonia Gandhi also extended her salutations to the valiant soldiers on the occasion of Army Day. Paying tributes to those who sacrificed their lives to protect the nation and secure it's sovereignty, Sonia said that jawans and officers of the Indian Army had established glorious traditions of valour and selflessness making the entire nation proud.
"My tribute to our soldiers, officers and ex-servicemen on Army Day. You fight for India's freedom & liberty, and lay down your lives to defend a billion hopes & dreams.You make us proud," Rahul Gandhi tweeted.
