Kolkata: Two members of a family were killed when a bomb exploded inside their house in West Bengal’s Birbhum district, police said on Friday.
The incident happened in the house of Sheikh Jabir Hussain in Ahmedpur, some 180 km from Kolkata.

After the explosion, a huge crowd gathered around the village. Police officials have been informed about the incident.
“Two people have been killed. Prima facie it appears a bomb was being made in the house when it exploded,” said Birbhum Superintendent of Police Mukesh Kumar
The victims have been identified as Sheikh Hafizul and Tariq Hussain, both brothers of Sheikh Jabir Hussain, member of the gram panchayat from the state’s ruling Trinamool Congress. Hafizul died on the spot; Tarik died on the way to hospital.
Residents claimed that besides the bodies that were found by the police, there were some more bodies that were removed before the police reached the spot.
