NEW DELHI: One of the most wanted men from the United Kingdom, an Indian national has been arrested by Crime Branch in New Delhi on Sunday.

The 28-year-old accused, identified as Raminder Singh, was arrested in Delhi after police received a request from its UK counterparts.

The accused, wanted in charges for attempt to murder and rape of two women in Scotland in 2012, had escaped from the country after committing the crime and was reportedly staying in Chandigarh after assuming a fake identity, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav said.

A red corner notice was also issued against Singh by the Interpol. Further investigations are on, said the police.
