Parliament's budget session to commence from February 23

New Delhi: The government today announced dates for the upcoming budget session of parliament here in New Delhi. The session will commence on February 23.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu said that the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA) met today and decided dates for the forthcoming budget session of the parliament.
The budget session will be held in two parts. The first part will be from February 23 till March 16, while the second part will be after a gap of 39 days. It will start on April 25 and will last till May 13.
There will be a special address by the President on February 23. The presentation of Railway Budget will be held on February 25 while the economic survey report will be released on February 26. The General Budget will be presented on February 29, Union Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu announced.
According to reports, it was earlier said that the number of days in the budget session may be cut down because of the upcoming Assembly elections in five states. But after a unanimous decision it was decided that the number of days of the budget session will not be changed.
