A specially-abled youth has been found dead in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district. The man was allegedly picked up by the cops on Friday and today his body was found on the road.
The deceased’s family says that the police tortured him and his body finally succumbed to injuries.
The specially-abled youth was attempting to convey something to the police in sign language and signal towards something, according to eyewitness reports. His actions were mistaken to be derogatory remarks by the police and the police picked him up their vehicle and took him away.
The family members of the deceased are complaining that the police picked up the youth without an arrest warrant, tortured him and left him with multiple injuries on the side of the road. Injuries to which he succumbed before his body was found on Saturday.
This is one of many shocking cases of police brutality in the country at this time.
