A PHD scholar from the University of Hyderabad where the Dalit scholar Rohith Vemula committed suicide has gone missing today. University doctors say that the scholar was battling depression and was admitted at the university health centre for a medical check up.
Ditty Suresh, a PHD scholar in the University of Hyderabad and a member of the Ambedkar Students Association (ASA), went missing after he was admitted at the university health centre for a health check up. His father said that Suresh had gone missing from Saturday afternoon. With the help of some friends, he had earlier admitted his son to the health centre.
Ditty Suresh is an active member of the Ambedkar Students Association of which Rohith Vemula was also an active associate too. Suresh had penned glorifying tributes about Rohith Vemula on his Facebook page after the latter’s demise.
Suresh's depression was triggered sharply after the death of Rohith Vemula. He recently posted on his Facebook page exclaiming that "there was little time left in our journey".
