NEW DELHI: Replicating a typical Bollywood sequence, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday was escaped through a roof after being stuck in an elevator at a government building in South Delhi’s Vasant Kunj area.

After some nervous minutes, the union minister had to be lifted through the roof of the elevator at the headquarters of the paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), celebrating the ‘Shaurya Diwas’ today.

CRPF Director General and Minister of State for Home, Kiren Rijiju were also stuck with Rajnath Singh in the elevator. After the lift declined to move, the minister then pressed the emergency alarm.

According to the reports, Singh was the last one to be raised from the lift through the roof after the CRPF top officer and junior home minister.

63-year-old Home Minister later narrated the incident to the audience.
