MUMBAI: Shiv Sena, jointly ruling the Maharashtra government with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday lodged protest against the release of 26/11 mastermind Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi in Pakistan.

A day after Pakistan betrayed India yet another time and permitted the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) Commander Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi, who planted the 26/11 Mumbai attacks killing 166 people to walk freely in Pakistan, the Indian government lodged a strong protest with Pakistan with Indian envoy in Islamabad meeting Pakistan Foreign Secretary to protest Lakhvi’s release.

According to the MEA, Islamabad has been told that this is the most negative development so far as bilateral ties are concerned.

On the other hand, the French government has supported India over the issue, with President Francois Hollande calling the release of LeT commander as ‘shocking’.

Believing the sources, India will build a strong case against Pakistan internationally and will fight this battle diplomatically by isolating Pakistan on international stage.
