Massive protests on JNU row

New Delhi: Sadiq Naqvi, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student Umar Khalid’s close friend, was picked up from Bijnor and brought to Delhi regarding the latter's failure to present himself before the authorities after being named in the 'sedition' controversy. The cops have sought his help and have asked him to present himself on Saturday.
Delhi Police have been searching for all those who were a part of the pro-Afzal event which was held at JNU and this person has been zeroed down, whose investigation will start on Saturday at around 10 am at Hauz Khas.
It is expected that this lead will help the police in building up their case and will pave the way for further investigation.
Umar Khalid went absconding right after the event took place in JNU and since then, the hunt to nab him has been ongoing.

On Friday, it was reported that Umar had been traced to Himachal Pradesh and special teams have been deployed to nab him as early as possible.
Umar Khalid and Kanhaiya Kumar are allegedly the two main suspects for organising the pro-Afzal event at JNU and chanting anti-national slogans at the same.
