Aam Aadmi Party leader Soni Sori became the victim of an acid attack in Chhattisgarh on Saturday night.
Soni Sori is a prominent tribal activist and an AAP leader who had recently spoken to media about anticipating risk to her life. She had also spoken to media about being forced to evict her house. The administration was claiming that her house was built on encroached land and that it would be demolished if she didn’t leave the house. She was approached by two men on bikes on Saturday night and had the liquid thrown on her face.
Sori was taken to the hospital following the attack but her current condition is not known. While her family members are saying that this is an acid attack, the police reports on the matter say that it was not acid that was thrown at the AAP leader but burnt grease or some type of lubricant.
