NEW DELHI: Few days back after it was revealed that former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru spied on the family of Subhash Chand Bose for approximately twenty years, a media report claimed that the Intelligence Bureau (IB) had shared the details of Bose's family with Britain's MI5.
According to the report, declassified documents reveal that the Intelligence Bureau shared a letter written by Netaji's key aide AC Nambiar to Bose’s nephew Amiya Nath.
IB official SB Shetty wrote a letter on October 6, 1947 and sought "comments" of KM Bourne, MI5 security liaison officer, posted in Delhi referencing a letter written by Nambiar to Amiya Bose on August 19, 1947.
Bourne forwarded the letter written by Nambiar to Amiya Bose on October 7, 1947, saying "You may make any comments on this letter and it will be appreciated." The letter could be about Bose's wife and daughter though the context is unclear.
Meanwhile, Bose's grandnephew will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Germany and demand for declassification of all secret files related to the freedom fighter.
Surya Kumar Bose, the President of the Indo-German Association in Hamburg, has been invited to attend the reception in Berlin which will be attended by the Prime Minister who is on his three-nation tour.
