New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Wednesday decided to defer the bail plea hearing of Jawaharlal Nehru University’s student union president Kanhaiya Kumar till February 29. Kumar was arrested over sedition charges.
Kumar, in his bail petition said that he was a victim of conspiracy and was falsely implicated by "fabricating" evidence. Kumar also denied raising anti-national slogans and claimed that no charge under Section 124A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) could have been made out against him.
Earlier on Tuesday, the High Court had directed Delhi Police it to submit a status report on the bail plea filed by Kumar today.
JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar was arrested on sedition charges after some students organised an event on the JNU campus to mark the death anniversary of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru, who was executed in 2013.

Bail application of JNU SU President

It's fact anti-national slogans were shouted on an event arranged with the consent and support and permission of JNSU President. He was found standing with him resultant he supported his slogans if he claims he did not shout though allegedly he did? Any way matter being sub-dice in the Honourable High court the only competent to take cognizance. But, if Delhi Police claims they have several evidences they need to be allowed to explain and prove. Nevertheless, crime is crime even if they deny but have no evidence of their innocence they are in trouble. That is why it's said family sanskars work to shape the future of students. But, if one is bent upon jumping from huge top who can save such a person. Only luck can save such criminals who deliberately hit an axe with bare foot! My sypathies go to the parents of these students who have high hopes from them.
