HANNOVER: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is in Germany on the second leg of his three-nation tour, will head to Berlin on Monday and inaugurate the Indo-German summit in Hannover.
PM Modi is also expected to attend a community meeting which will be hosted by the Indian Ambassador.
Amid row over snooping on close relatives of Subhas Chandra Bose, PM Modi is likely to meet the grand nephew of freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in Berlin today.
Meanwhile, Bose’s grandnephew Surya Kumar Bose said, “Subhas Bose did not belong just to his direct family. He had himself said that the whole country is his family. I do not think that it’s just the duty of the family to raise this issue,” adding I will meet PM Modi to demand declassification of all secret files related to the freedom fighter.
On Sunday night, PM Modi, along with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, inaugurated the Hannover Fair, the world’s largest show of capital goods and technology.
He then addressed the gatherings at the opening ceremony of the Hannover fair and said “We are instituting a rational framework for acquisition of land without causing distress to farmers and other landowners.”
Modi also unveiled a bust of Mahatma Gandhi and said his teachings and principles were the appropriate answer to challenges like terrorism and global warming that the world faces.
