Gang rapes on Murthal highway

Murthal: The members of the probe panel formed to inquire reports of rapes during the Jat agitation have reached Murthal, Haryana. The second High Court judge has taken cognizance of the alleged rapes that have taken place on the Murthal highway during the Jat agitation and has said that it is a “murder of the Constitution.”

Two days after the alleged sexual assault on the women commuters in Murthal, NH-1 during the Jat agitation was brought to light, the second High Court judge Justice Amit Rawal placed the Centre and the Haryana Government in the dock for failure to act. He called the state government’s failure to act on issue a murder of not only the constitution but of democracy as well.

The state government has been trying to defend itself by saying that there have been no such incidents during the Jat agitation where women were molested or raped. But activists and a section of the media are claiming otherwise. Despite the fact that women’s clothing have been found strewn on the highway, the Haryana Police have been saying that they have no leads and no evidences. In light of the clothes being recovered, however, the government has ordered a second probe into the matter with the BJP and Home Secretary also addressing the media on their intent to form a committee for this issue. They are, however, still unwilling to register an FIR and begin investigating the matter.

The High Court has come down heavily on the state government saying that “this act of lawlessness, vandalism, hooliganism and destruction of public property was at the connivance of higher ranking public servants.”

Gang Rape in Murthal

Medias and /or any one, need NOT do investigation, whether or not, gang rapes had taken place in Murthal, during JAT agitation, coz, it will be TRUE. But getting in the shoes of cops, please guide them how to frame a case and on whom and on what evidence ?? Unless victims come forth or in camera inform media of an incident, police CAN NOT go ahead checking every female in Murtha or entire Haryana, to validate medically, for having been subjected to Rape or similar rapture. Also without victims co-operation to give brief out line of the culprit, cops can only imagine a culprit. Cops asking for some "clue from Media", is possibly with a hope that, some victims could have confessed to media person/s in Camera. It is easy to "harass" police by politician, medias and job less women activists!!!
