A Jet Airways flight suffered a technical issue while landing with 59 passengers and eight crew members on board at the Khajuraho airport on Monday in Madhya Pradesh following a tyre malfunction.
While the cause of the collapse of the landing is being interrogated, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has been updated with the incident.
Reports suggest that a tyre of the aircraft broke away from the landing gear and the plane jumped after hitting the runway leading to massive panic amongst passengers.
However, the pilot of the aircraft managed to land the plane successfully and all passengers were evacuated from the aircraft using emergency chute.
The incident took place at around 1:35 PM, airport officials inform.
