After a round of fiery speeches by BJP leaders, including Agra MP and union minister Ram Shankar Katheria, now it was the turn of another BJP MP this time from Karnataka to spew venom.

At a press conference in Sirsi BJP MP Ananth Kumar Hegde associated Islam with terrorism and said, “Till the time Islam exists in the world, no one can stop terrorism. If we want to keep a place like Bhatkal peaceful, then we should throw Islam away from this world.”

Earlier this week both Houses of Parliament witnessed disruptions over the incendiary speech made by Ram Katheria, though he claimed that he had not targeted any community in his speech.

Katheria along with BJP MP from Fatehpur Sikri, Babu Lal were attending a condolence meeting on Sunday held for VHP worker Arun Mahaur, who was allegedly shot dead by some Muslim youth from another community in Agra.

Leaders from the Congress have accused the BJP and RSS of harbouring plans to divide the country. Congress leader Anand Sharma has moved an adjournment notice in the Rajya Sabha on the matter.

Samajwadi Party’s Ram Gopal Yadav has demanded that Katheria be sacked.
