Srinagar: Three terrorists were killed in the Tral sector of Kashmir in a gun battle with the security forces on Thursday morning. Security forces had launched a search operation in Dadsara on Wednesday night on leads of militants’ presence in the area.
The terrorists are reported to be from Hizbul Mujahideen. All the three terrorists were holed up in a house by the security forces and were killed in the crossfire.
“Following a specific information that a group of militants was hiding in Mir Mohalla (Dadsara) village near Tral town of Pulwama district, security forces surrounded the area on Wednesday evening,” a senior police officer said.

“As forces closed on the house where the militants were hiding, they came under heavy firing. Three militants have been killed in the resulting encounter. We have recovered three AK rifles from the possession of the slain militants,” the officer added.
A search is underway at the encounter site. Exact identity of the slain guerrillas is being established, the officer said. It is also being alleged that these terrorists had important roles in the Udhampur attack on a BSF convoy last year.
