New Delhi: A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed in the Supreme Court on Thursday against the former UPA Cabinet Minister P Chidambaram over recent disclosures in the Ishrat Jahan fake encounter case.
The PIL seeks a contempt of court against the former Home Minister. According to sources, the Supreme Court is expected to take-up the hearing on this case on March 11.
The court will decide whether there is any public interest that is being served through this petition. However, it depends on the wisdom of the Supreme Court and penultimate decision in regard to this petition.

The entire controversy about Ishrat Jahan has broken out at a time when this issue is already sub-judice and the final judgement is still awaited.
Ever since accused-turned-approver in the 26/11 Mumbai attack David Headly has spoken about Ishrat Jahan, who was killed in an alleged fake encounter in Gujarat in 2004 over her purported links with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), several former officers who were involved in the post-encounter investigations have made controversial revelations which have added many twists to this widely debated case.
