Jammu: The Border Security Force (BSF) Director General DK Pathak will be here on Friday to take stock of security on the international border following the discovery of a 50-metre long tunnel in RS Pura sector of Jammu district.

A patrol party of BSF had on Thursday discovered a 50-metre long tunnel at AMK (Allah Mai Kothay) area in RS Pura sector.

"The underground tunnel was 50-metre long with the other end leading into the Pakistan side of the international border," an official of the BSF said here.

Senior BSF officers have reached the spot to ascertain whether the tunnel could have been dug to facilitate infiltration from across the border.

"It had a height of three to four feet. The objective of the tunnel had been to facilitate infiltration into the state from across the border. We have filled up the tunnel on our side and lodged a strong protest with Pakistan rangers," the official added.
